Handgun safety and marksmanship for the beginner.
A. Course objectives
1. One 3-hour class for the beginning shooter.
2. Student will be introduced to basic, safe handgun handling.
3. Proper operation of the handgun.
4. Basic marksmanship skills.
5. This course DOES NOT address the legal issues or self defense.
B. Course Outline
1. Universal Gun Handling Rules. (Handout)
2. Range Conduct Rules & Range Commands
3. Proper methods for removing the handgun from the holster.
4. Proper methods for returning the handgun to the holster.
5. Loading and unloading the handgun.
6. Stance and grip.
7. Sight alignment and trigger control.
8. Basic course of fire.
9. Cleaning and maintenance.
C. Required equipment
1. Handgun (caliber not specific.)
2. 50 rounds ammunition (minimum.)
